The Children of Choice
When the Age of Battle raged for a thousand years and Trea suffered under endless conflict, both Benelos and Gaengroth recognized that their warring children could not guide themselves toward resolution. The Treanin, pure of heart but lacking wisdom, fought valiantly but without strategy. The Orgurin, creatures of base instinct, knew only destruction and could never be reasoned with. Something new was needed - a bridge between the realms of order and chaos.
Thus was born the third race: the Altarin, also known as the high-humans. Unlike their predecessors, the Altarin were forged from the essence of both Gods, light and shadow intertwined within their very souls. This divine duality granted them something unprecedented in all of creation - the power of choice. Where Treanin naturally leaned toward good and Orgurin toward evil, the Altarin could walk either path, their destiny unwritten by divine decree.
Physically, they were the most fragile of the three races, lacking the robust strength of the Treanin and the savage durability of the Orgurin. Their magical power, too, paled in comparison to the elemental mastery that flowed naturally through Treanin veins. Yet what they lacked in raw power, they more than compensated for with brilliance of mind. The Altarin possessed an intellect sharper than any blade, capable of strategy, innovation, and the complex art of leadership.
It was this wisdom that led them to forge an alliance with the Treanin, recognizing in the low-humans a nobility worth protecting and guiding. The Altarin became the Lords of the Treanin, not through conquest but through mutual respect and shared purpose. Where the Treanin provided strength and courage, the Altarin offered direction and knowledge, creating a partnership that would define the struggle against corruption for ages to come.
